Culturally Enriching Cruises
What are culturally enriching cruises?
Culturally Enriching Cruises

Culturally Enriching Cruises are sailings that immerse guests into the local culture of a specific country or region. On these cruises, the vast majority of guests may be from that region, speaking the native language. In addition, guests will experience the local flavor & flare during their time onboard. Some examples are:

  • The food, entertainment and language spoken onboard will reflect the local Chinese culture; however, staff will always speak English to assist to our international guests.
  • There is no Diamond Club during these sailings as the venue is converted to an invitation-only lounge reserved for VIP Casino Royale guests.
  • The Solarium is converted to an exclusive area for guests staying in a Junior Suite or higher stateroom, and select Crown & Anchor Society tiers (Diamond tier and above.) Please note that guests of all ages are allowed in the Solarium as long as they are Suite guests or Diamond or above members. On non-China sailings, the Solarium is open to all adult guests.
  • The Solarium Bistro becomes a Hot Pot style restaurant
  • Sunshine bar located in the Solarium is only available to Suite guests and Crown & Anchor Society Diamond members and above.
  • Classic Dining changes to Cosmopolitan Dining where guests choose between 2 seating times, then select one of our four main dining rooms and are seated on a first come, first serve basis.
  • The North Star and RipCord by iFLY are not complimentary on certain Asia sailings on Quantum and Spectrum of the Seas
North Star: 20 USD per guest, per time (prices subject to change)
RipCord by iFLY: 29 USD per guest, per time (prices subject to change)

How does RCL Cruises handle incidents such as strikes, forge majeure -cases, other cases that have an impact on our booked guests?

Even for us, incidents may occur. An incident is a situation which has an impact on our ships and cruise guests. An incident can be a hurricane, dry dock accident, itinerary changes due to terror/political issues or strike.

In the event of an incident, our international and/or local incident team will contact the booked guest and travel partner as soon as possible. As soon as we are clear on how to manage the case in question, we will work hard to make sure both you as our partner and your guest are informed.

Example on how we handled changes caused by hurricane Dorian:

Step 1: Information was sent out by our international incident team in Miami. For Trade Partners bookings the information was sent to the email addresses given in Espresso. Very important to make sure that the email reaches the guest, always use the guests own email address.

Step 2: Our local incident team contacted Trade Partners to give them the updated information about the situation and what the next steps will be.

In any flight cancellation/delays or other issues related to flights booked through Royal Caribbean, please contact our Contact Center. If Contact Center is unavailable, please call  +1 800 2566649.
